Overpopulation
Meriam Webster defines the word “overpopulation” as the condition of having a population so dense as to cause environmental deterioration, and impaired quality of life, or a population crash.
The main focus on this research paper is overpopulation and the impact it has on the environment. Scientists have projected that if humans continue the same behaviors it will leave the world overpopulated with more humans and scarce food water trees plants and animals and thus human extinction. This research paper is to help raise awareness on overpopulation and the damage to the environment it causes if we do not change our methods. So, in order to understand this dilemma, we will answer these questions. How did population growth become an issue? Are scientists and statisticians correct on their predictions and focuses on population growth? What methods how we put in place for overpopulation and have they worked? How does overpopulation effect nature and its resources? Solutions what are the possible solutions to over population? Can we really stop the overpopulation or is this the world may end?
We will begin by stating the causes of over population.
More people are giving birth and there are more legal and illegal immigrants populating the united states of America every second. The united states population at the beginning of 2019 was over three hundred twenty-eight million. Two hundred and forty humans per hour enter the united states of America about half from new births and a half from immigration that’s about two million per year. You may be asking yourself how to calculate overpopulation in basic terms multiply the number of populations by the use of resources and energy used to sustain the population or projected population in the future. The census bureau gives statistics on how many humans are in the united states of America but illegal immigration is an issue some illegal immigrants are in fear of being arrested and deported so they do not report themselves in the census count which in fact does not give us the full picture of the correct number of the actual population. So, we will be using these numbers but please remember it may be inaccurate. More people mean more materials to be used to make homes for these people which means we will need to cut down more trees to build them fewer trees means less clean air which humans and animals need to breathe and maintain health. Fewer animals mean we will be having less food means we will not be able to sustain ourselves. Other contributing factors to overpopulation are children in the foster care system that do not have a placement or are not being adopted. Education is a contributing factor as well.
Overpopulation affects me because I have a family and I want to make sure we have enough resources for my kids and grandkids and my great grandkids but with a good or better quality of life as I have had. The database I used was google and I found worldpopulationbalance.org and this blog blog.arcadiapower.com 10 key facts statistics overpopulation. Overpopulation is a controversial topic because some don’t think overpopulation is an issue and or they don’t believe it will be an issue. I’m interested in this issue because it may jeopardize our quality of life. There are two sides to this issue one side is my side which believes yes this is a problem or could become a problem. The other side is not informed about the statistics or has never thought about overpopulation as a problem. Overpopulation requires several solutions as better immigration laws cleaner energy, healthier eating planting more of our food sources in neighborhoods, not just one will solve it but one of the solutions I’m advocating for is Birth control. Easier access to birth control has lowered the population some will feel like it hasn’t made a difference. women aged 15-44 about 43 million of the 70% are at risk for unwanted pregnancy. They have an 85% chance of becoming pregnant if they are unprotected. Free birth control to all women of any financial class because it will decrease the children in foster care that the government has to pay for which in place taxpayers end up eating the cost. So not only will it help decrease the population, but it will help secure our economy. Many twenty to thirty-year-old’s have decided to wait to have kids or to not even have kids of their own biological DNA. An adoption is a key option for helping with the overpopulation let alone in just Arizona there are 16,000 kids’ babies’ teenagers’ pre-teenagers that have no placement in the foster care that’s not the number of them are in the foster care system. So, let alone birth control and adoption will help decrease the risk of overpopulation but I do acknowledge it doesn’t completely solve the risk of being overpopulated. The threat of overpopulation and the devastation is approaching us and if scientists are correct and we don’t all change our ways of living thinking and acting we will become overpopulated. The main idea or conclusion is does our energy food water and plants and animals sustain the number of the future population and will our solutions that we put in place help us achieve survival and not become overpopulated and have to suffer and starve and kill mother earth will we save our planet for our children and the future or will we continue to abuse this planet and help several animals and plants become extinct. Will we find a solution to the immigration problem? Will we educate women on birth control and why do we only educate women on birth control? The real solution will be education everyone n fertility birth control from when they can be ready to process the information mentally, we should implement these solutions in our kids from early age. I hope we can all come together and make sure overpopulation never effects any one of us and our environment.

Some people will feel like overpopulation is not an issue because they have no lack of food or water or shelter.

Different Childhoods Different Folks
When I was growing up, I did not think I was different or weird, and I thought everyone was like me. I began school in Nicaragua. My first language was Spanish. I could read, speak, and write it. The school was all Spanish it was nice we all played together. I loved it, but then we had to go back to California for my dads’ work. I felt excited, plus it was just for three months. I went to this school. I did not like it. It wasn’t like my old school, oh, and great I did not speak English. It did not hit me till they all spoke to me I was so confused I panicked and started to cry I remember crying and looking at everyone kids and teachers staring at me which made me cry more. I felt alone, and I did not want to tell my parents they did not speak English either, and they wouldn’t cry about it like I was neither would my older brothers. I started classes in this in-school program called ESL, which meant English Second Language my teachers’ name was Miss Luna she was the nicest lady I had meant at the school probably because she spoke my language and we could understand each other. In Miss Luna’s class, it was painted with purple painted walls and yellow construction paper words that were in English common words like hi, my name is. I actually met other kids my age that did not speak English. Now one would think we all speak Spanish; we are the same, right? Wrong! See the thing is with Mexican Nicaraguan or any Latin state, the type and dialect of Spanish is different. So guess who the only kid that wasn’t Mexican was there me. Ding. Ding. So as soon as I felt comfortable, I started feeling uncomfortable again. They were not mean they would say things like I love your accent like every time I would speak. I started learning English. When as soon as I mastered English it was time to move again but not back to Nicaragua . We were going to Florida. Miami was interesting a lot of other latino countries meshed into one city I really didn’t need English there. Everyone spoke Spanish it was like Nicaragua but better because it was America. School was good most kids there had immigrant parents like me. Then we went back to Nicaragua. Everything went back to normal which I missed we would go back and fourth from America to central America. It got tiring but at least I would still go back to my norm at one point of the year. Until my Father decided he wanted to retire in Tucson, Arizona . I was so angry I felt like my whole life was just crumbling I did not want to move to Tucson, Arizona I had visited Tucson several times and it was not “cute” it was ugly honestly compared to all the other places I been there was no grass or flowers scattered everywhere like I was used to. I was crying the whole way to Tucson that didn’t matter my parents didn’t care. I started going to school and I was miserable I didn’t want to talk to anyone I wanted to die. The first day this kid named Gabe called me a freak. I wasn’t as fluent in English as I am now. I thought to myself what is a Freak? I had no idea what it was I didn’t want to ask my ESL teacher I was to embaressed. When I got home I asked my older brother what a freak was he told me it was really bad he said it was basically calling me a wierdo. I started to cry and the next day I had to go to school I was dreading it. I pretended to be sick my mom wouldn’t let me stay home. So I had to go to school I was really upset
